Past Fundraising events
The
response to Tom’s Trust to date has been overwhelming. We have now
raised funds in excess of £1,400,000.
The donations have been used to support a large number of very
worthwhile projects. The Trustees would like to express their heartfelt
thanks to all the Trust’s supporters and donors.
Large sums have been donated in relation to some fantastic fundraising events which have generously been organised by people whose lives were touched by Tom or his story. So far, the events have included, to name just some:
- London Marathon 2007 - Nicholas Wakefield.
- London Marathon 2008 - Adele Eastman, Tom's fiancée, ran the London Marathon in April, together with friends David Smellie, Alex and Julia Young and Dom Jones. They all crossed the finish line within 4 hours and 41 minutes.
- Sponsored cycle ride from London to Cannes – 4 years running
- Herefordshire 10k (Hertfordshire Trainee Solicitor Group)
- Some sponsored “dress down” days
- Three Peaks Challenge: A team of 16 lawyers climbed the three highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) in 24 hours
- Capital Ring Walk: A walk of 75 miles around London, completed over three months
- Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - Michael Firth
- Parachute Jump - Deborah Cooper
- Cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End - Giles Vallis
- Paris Marathon 2009 - Esther Scott
- Marathon de Sables 2009 - Tom Hunt

A huge thanks to everyone who
has organised or participated in these events. Occasions like these
provide tremendous assistance in furthering the objectives of Tom’s
Trust and mean that his legacy will not be forgotten.
Special
thanks go to all the organisers of the above events.
