Recently Completed Fundraising Events
Some of the fundraising activities, all of which raised a significant sum for Tom's Trust this year, included:
A local Book Sale was held on 27th March in aid of the Trust which was well attended. The Trustees are most grateful to all those who took part and helped realise a very useful contibution to the Fund.
Marathon De Sables (1st April)
by Tom Hunt, who was a good friend of Tom's, completed the 6-day event coming 187th out of some 800 competitors, which is a fantastic feat of stamina and determination. His substantial contribution to Tom's Trust is greatly appreciated.
Paris
marathon (5th April) by Esther Scott, running through the streets of Paris, completed the course in 4 hours and 6 minutes, a result she is very happy with. She has also raised a considerable sum for the Trust, a wonderful result.
John
O’Groats to Lands End
Tom's cousin Giles Vallis rode his
bike from John O'Groats to Lands End in 9 days in May. You can read his

Parachute

Deborah Cooper jumped out of an
aeroplane on 20th July 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it! See her video of

Mount
Kilimanjaro
Michael Firth and some of his
family successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in August last year.
Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa at 5,896m or 19,340ft, and it
took them 7 days to reach the summit. Read all about it on justgiving.com/michaelfirth.
